BLUE OX baseplates are custom made to fit specific vehicles to use existing attachment points and accomodate specific exterior features of the vehicle. Blue Ox manufactures baseplates that have three types of tabs: Removable, Standard and Duncan. Most late model vehicles for which Blue Ox manufactures baseplates have the Removable type of tabs. The main advantage of the removable tab type is that when your vehicle is not in tow you can easily remove the tabs.

Blue Ox Removable Tabs The visible portion of the baseplate (the "front arms") can be easily removed when not towing - remove two hitch pins to convert from towed car to road car in seconds!	Blue Ox Standard Tabs The visible portion of the baseplate (the "front arms") are part of the entire baseplate body and cannot be removed individually.	Duncan Bracket Types The baseplate tabs are actually mounted directly to the front bumper of your vehicle. Mostly used for older model Jeeps.
